The Friends of Woodthorpe Grange Park (FoWGP) is a voluntary group of like-minded people who care for Woodthorpe Grange Park in Nottingham and its environment. The group meets on a quarterly basis at the Grange on Woodthorpe Park.
Initially, the group acts as a link to Nottingham City’s Parks and Leisure Department, by passing on any information as regards environmental issues that concern Woodthorpe Grange Park.
In more recent times, the Friends of Woodthorpe Grange Park have taken on a proactive role by organising gardening sessions in the park’s Formal and Dell Gardens. Also, two members lead walks around Woodthorpe Grange Park. One, who is a local historian, leads heritage walks around Woodthorpe Park and also organises illustrated talks in the Grange, which are advertised on the Friends of Woodthorpe Park’s Facebook page, whilst another member, a retired horticultural and landscape architect, leads a tree walk around the park’s gardens, which is also advertised on the Friends' Facebook page.
Could you support or are you interested in joining us?
By becoming a member of the Friends of Woodthorpe Grange Park you can receive a 10% discount at the Woodthorpe Park Plant Nursery, plus a 10% discount at the adjacent cafe.
If all you wish to do is support us and take advantage of the membership discount, that is entirely up to you as there is no obligation to take part in any of the activities. However, if you have an hour or two to spare and would like to become involved in the friend's activities, or if you have a skill, you feel would enhance the friend’s range of activities, we would love to have you on board!
